SPECIFICATLON.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known, that I, ELEMIR J. NEY, of Lowell, in the county of Middlesex, and State of Massachusetts, have originated and designed a new Pattern for Carpets or other fabrics, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact descrip tion, reference being had to the accompanying drawings making part of this specicaton.

Fig. A is one half of a wreath of leaves and flowers, in centre of which is a small rosette 1. Fig. B is one half of a figure composed of four shells surrounding the star 2. These shells rest on the irregular vened ligure C, which is surrounded by the sprig work 3.

The bars D D, composed of blocks and key work, extend from the corners 4 and 6 to the centre, and when matched, form a large diamond surrounding the wreath A E and F; at sides are small groups of' leaves and flowers. Extending from the n 'reatli A over the bars D D and surrounding gs. C, F and E, are the vines 5 5.

The colors employed for the different portions of the design may be varied to suit the taste and wish ofthe manufacturer.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- The design or pattern for carpets or other fabrics herein set forth.
