THOMAS H. OHUBB, OF POST MILLS, VERMONT.
DESIGN FOR A FISHING-REEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,921, dated May 22, 1883.
Application flled April 21, 1883. Term of patent H years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS H. 011mm, of Post Mills, in the county of Orange and State of Vermont, have invented a new and Improved Design for Fishing-Reels, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my newly-designed fishing-reel; and Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the same, these two views being deemed necessary to fully illustrate my design.
Heretofore fishing-reels have been made with flanges to their spools.
The leading features of my design are the raised or convexed ends of the frame, surrounded by a plane border, and the radiallycorrngated flaring flanges of the spool.
A is the reel-frame, the middle parts, B, of
the ends of which are raised or convexed, and the outer parts or borders, 0, are plane. The spool D has its flanges E flared and radially corrugated.
This design gives the reel a neat, attractive, and ornamental appearance.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The design fora fishing-reel herein shown and described, the same consisting of the ends of the reel-frame, having the middle part, B, raised or convexcd and surrounded by a plane border, 0.
2. The design for a fishing-reel herein shown and described, the same consisting of the flanges E of the spool, made flaring and having radial corrugations.
THOMAS HENRY OHUBB.
