SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,902, dated May 15, 1883,
Application filed-March 23, 1883. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, BERNHARD DREYFUS, a citizen of the United States, residingin the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new andoriginal Design for Curtain Bands or Loops, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact de-.
scription.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and ornamental design for curtain bands or loops used -to hold the gathered parts of lace or other curtains.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of. reference indicate corresponding parts in both the figures.
Figure 1 is alongitudinal view of my newlydesigned curtain-band. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail View of the same.
The band is made of two parallel cords, or top and bottom pieces, A, preferably formed of twisted strands a of the same or different colors, which cords A form loops B at the ends, at which loops tufts or rosettes O are secured. The cords A are united by transverse cords D, suitably spaced, which cords D can be of the same color as the cords A, or of a different color. On each transverse cord 1) a series of tufts, E, are secured, preferably three, as shown.
The tufts can all be of the same color, or the middle tuft of a different color.
Silk, worsted, cotton, tinsel, 850., can be used to make the tufts.
The band can be made any desired width and any desired color.
I. claim- 1. A design for the body of curtain-bands, consisting of transverse parallel cords D, placed at right angles to the side cords, AA, and provided with three crossing-tufts on each cord, each of said cords being divided near the end and the divisions carried obliquely to the cords A, as shown and described.
2. The herein-described design for curtain bands or loops, consisting of cords A, united by cords D, provided with tufts E and rosettes O at the ends of the band, as shown. 1
