DESIGN FOR A COMBINED LAMP AND VASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,335, dated October 10, 1882.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, ILLIAM S. MULEWEE, of New York, in the county and State of New York, have originated and produced a new Design for a Combined Lamp and Vase, olwhich the following is a. specification.
My design consists in various features, hereinafter particularly described and claimed.
1n the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side view of a combined vase and lamp embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a central vertical section thereof.
Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in both figures.
lhave not shown a burner in connection with thclamp; but any suitable style of burner may be used. The vaseorholdert'orthe lamp consists of a base portion, 1%, and an upper portion, (I. The base porlion B may be made of brass oroIln-r metal, and is otan ornamental configuration, embellished externally with rich designs east,en; rared, impresscd,or embossed upon or in it. The upper part is formed of glass, porcelain, or other ceramic 'are decorated or ornamented \\'|th any approprialedesigns. Preferably the upper portion ill be made of transparent or opal glass having painted on it representations of llowers or other devices or articles, as then it may be made rheap and highly ornamental. It is here shown as made in the form oi'a cylinder and as havingits lower edge fitting into the base portion B, a shoulder, a, made in the form of an ornamental bead or beads, resting on the top of the said base portion, serving to support it on the latter. An ornamental ring, band, or crown ol metal, I), surmonnts and forms part of the upper portion, C. it tits over the upper edge and rests upon a shoulder, I), formed of a bead or beads extending from the said upper portion.
What 1 claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a combined lampand vase,'thedesi; -n for a base portion, substantially as set forth.
2. ln aeombined lamp and vase,the design for an upper portion,substantially as set forth.
3. In a combined lamp and vase, thedesign for an upper portion and ring, band. or crown, substantially as set forth.
4. in a combined lamp and vase, thedesign for a base portion and an upper portion, sub stantially as set torth.
5. In a combined lamp and vase, the design fora base portion, an upper porlion, and a ring, band, or crown, substantially as set forth.
