DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,262, dated. August 22, 1882.

Application filed July 21, 1882. Term of patent 35 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, THOMAS J. STEARNS, of Boston, in the county of Suifolk and State of lilassachusetts, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.

The nature of my design is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.

The design is composed of the overlapping rectangular figures, the Grecian borders arranged near said figures and at other parts on the ground of the carpet, and the floral and foliage ornamentation, prominent in which are clusters of diverging leaves resembling palmtrees. The design alsoincludes the L-shaped 15 figures and the adjacent rectangular reticulated figures having two sides parallel with two sides of the L-shaped figures.

I claim- The design for a carpet, substantially as 20 shown and described.
