UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR A TOY SHOVEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,141,
Application filed May 22, 1882.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC P. UHALFAN'I, a citizen of the United States, residing at Phil- 'adelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Toy Shovels; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a plan showing front of shovel, Fig. 2 is a plan showing back of shovel with rib on socket.
M ydesign consists in forming wings or webs on the socket, connecting the same laterally with the upper edge of the blade, said wings or webs flaring from their upper end or where they spring from the socket down to their union with the blade.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, A indicates the blade of a toy shovel, and B dated August 8, 1882.
Term of patent 7 years.
the handle-socket, which is in one piece with said blade. Wings or webs b b, springing laterally from the socket, starting near its upper end and flaring or spreading as they descend, connect it with the upper edge or part of the blade. These wings or webs give the shovel a more attractive appearance than has heretofore been obtained.
What I claim as my invention is- The design for toy shovels herein described and shown, consisting of a blade, A, and socket B, with lateral webs or wings b b, flaring downwardly and connecting said socket and blade, substantially as set forth and illustrated.
in testimony that I claim the foregoing l have hereunto set my hand this 15th day of May, 1882.
ISAAQ I. C HALFAN'P.
