DESIGN FOR FRINGE FOR KNITTED FABRICS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,804, dated June 1, 1880. Application filed April 30, 1880. Term of patent '7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GABRIEL UPTON, acitizen of the United States, residingin Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented or produced anew and original Design for a Flll'lgO for Knitted Fabric, of which the following is a specification;

My design is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration, in Which- A represents part of the body of the fabric, and B the fringe, the latter comprising the knitted cords a, the continuous baud b of fabric, and the pendent cords d, which are tied or knotted at the ends.

The band b is in the present instance similar in character to the body A of the fabric; but the character of the band, and also of the bod y, may be varied without affecting the general appearance of the design.

I do not desire to claim a fringe composed 20 of pendent cords knotted at the ends, as such a fringe has long been known and used; but

I claim- The design for a fringe for knitted fabric, said design comprising the cords a, band I), 25 and pendent cords d, all substantially as described, and as shown in and by the accompanying drawing.

In testimon whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of 30 two subscribing witnesses.
