PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR A SLIDE FASTENER ration of Pennsylvania Application October 13, 1938, Serial No. 80,430
Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Theodore A. Hersh, a citizen of the United States and residing at Frankling, in the county of Venango and State of Pennsylvania, U. S. A., have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Slide Fastener, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof, wherein the figure is a plan view of a slide fastener of conventional thickness illustrating the present design.
As is readily apparent from the drawing, the slide fastener consists of two tapes or stringers each having a series of interlocking elements along one edge thereof, which are adapted to be moved into and out of engagement with the interlocking elements on the other tape, by means of a slider. Each tape is configured with a series of longitudinally spaced bars or chevrons. The bars on each tape are of the same width and the spacing between the bars is the same throughout the length of the tape. Each tape is also configured with a series of spaced blocks which close the spaces between the bars on each side of the tape.
