Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
.HENBY L. EERR IS, OF HARVARD, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO HUNT, 11mm, FEBBIS A! 'GOMPANY, OF HARVARD, ILLINOIS, A CORPORATION OF ILLINOIS.
rnAcK non noonsnnncnns.
Specification of Iiette ts Patent;
Patented June 6, 1911.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY L. Felons, a citizen of the United States, r'esidingat Harvard, in the county of McHenry and State'of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Tracks for Door- -Hangers, of which the following is a speci- 2 of Fig. 1; Fig.3, a section in the line '3 of Fig. 2; Fig. 4, a section in the line 4: of Fig. 1 and Fig. 5 a perspective View showing one ofthe end-brackets, and the manner in which the leii gths of track are assembled. Referring to the drawings-A, A, are sections .of a hollow-cylindrical track, each of which is open at the bottom in the form of a slot, the sections being of the type.
which are adapted to receive within them door-hangers, projecting portions of which extend downward through the slots to on gage with the door.
B, B, are the intermediate brackets with the aid of which the sectionsare assembled into a complete track. the brackets having hollow-cylindrical portions adapt-ed to re ceive the ends of two adjacent: track-sections in the manner illustrate":
G, C are the end-brackets of my track. each of the brackets having a cylindriccl plug 0 adapted 'to enter the end of the ad jacent section A. and center, and sup the same, and provided with a flange 01 against which the ends of the adjacent sections abut.
Each of the sections .A is provided at one end with a projecting tongue a, and at the other end with a corresponding notch a, the tongues and notches of these sections tive rotationof the sections, so as to hold the slots in the bottoms thereof in line for the continuous passage of the door-hangers.
The flange c of the bracket C has a projectinglug 0 which enters the correspond-- ring notch of the adjacent section A, and the flange c of the bracket C is provided with a corresponding notch to receive the tongue a of the adjacent track-section.
to prevent rela- 1 By this, construction,,all the sections are held' in mutual alinementby their on ement with each other and, by their e age ment with the end brackets, they are locked against bodily rotation as a unit. In this manner, a firm and substantial track construction is afforded which can readily be assembled and which can bemade entirely devoid of projecting brackets. 1 This is of particular importance, when the short-sew tion plan of assembling is used, because one.
of the principal advantages of such ar rangeinent s the fact that the track sections can be' packed-and shipped without attachedbrackets, and where that system is used with the type of track where the hanger runs inside the traclr,.-sonie-special means of holding the track in its original position, both absolutely with reference to the barn, and each, section with respectto the other is necessary. This means is fur? nished in simple and convenient. form in the present type of construction.
' I realize that considerabde variation is possible in the details of construction of-my improved device without departing from" the spirit of my in,venti n":- and I do not intend therefore, to limit myself to the specific form herein shown. and described.
'What I regard as new and desire to secore by Letters Patent, is-
