simple and eflieient lamp adapted for use onautomobiles, boats, and other vehicles, and it has particular reference to lamps adapted to contain incandescent electric lamp bulbs, an

' object of my invention being to permit ready removal and replacement of the protecting glass globe or shield.- Myinv ention comprises novel details of improvement and combinations of parts that will be more fully hereinafter set forth and then pointed out in the claims;

In the drawings the numerals 1 and 2 indicate upper and lower caps that receive the globe or flame chamber 3, preferably of glass, which caps are shown provided with flange portions 1, 2", bearing against the corresponding shoulder portions 3, 3", of globe or shield 3.

In Fig. 4 I have shown my improvements tally disposed globe 3, wherein, suitable caps 1*, 2*"at opposite ends of the globe areheld by the devices 4,74, (land 7 "iIrthQ-IIEIIIQQIJ} before described, but in this casethfpart,6,v and opening (iiextend transversely with respect to the parts 4, 4 so that the latter extend horizontally in supporting thelamp upon the usual bracket instead of vertically as in Figs. 1 and 2.

By means of the adjustability bet-ween member 6 and braces 4, 4 globes of different length are adapted to be used.

It will be understood that one of the braces can be permanently attached to member 6 while the adjustable means between said member and the other brace will permit removal and replacement of. the globe or flame chamber.

My improvements are simple and cheap. to manufacture, may be stamped from sheet metal, will hold the globe properly and se-' curely in place, take up jar and vibration, permit ready adjustment, replacement and cleaning of the parts, are efiicient in use, and not liable to get out of order..

Having now described my invention what I claim is I 1; A lamp comprising aglobe, caps at' opposite ends of the globe retaining said connected with said braces and provided globe, braces extending from said caps, and

means for detacha-bly'connecting said braces.

2 A lamp comprising a: globe, caps at opposite .ends of the globe retaining said globe, braces extending from said caps, and means for detachably connecting said braces, said means comprising a member adjustably with means to receive abracket for supporting the same.
