IMPRCVEMENT IN STEPS FOR. SPINDLES TO SPINNING-MACHINES.
Speciication forming part of Letters Patent No. 99,087, dated January 25, 1870.
To all whom it may concern:
, Be it known that I, JAMES P. HILLARD, of Fall River, in the county of Bristol, in the State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Improved Step for Spindles to Spinning- Machines. I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters ot' reference vmarked thereon.
My invention consists in a spindle-step and oil-cap combined.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of spindle-step and cap combined, with spindle inserted into it. Fig. 2 is a section of spindle, spindle-step, and oil-cap. Fig. l-A1 is spindle-step; B1,
oil-cup; Cl, spindle. Fig. 2---A2 is spindlestep; B2, oil-cup; G2, spindle.
Operation: The spindle-step being cast,
with oil-cup combined, as herein shown, with apertures a2 b2, as also shown, its operation may be noted.
The spindle being inserted in the step, as seen in Fig. l, and the oil for lubrication inserted through aperture a2, the aperture b2 permits the air to escape as the oil takes its place. Its operation may be noted Without further specification.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The spindle-step A1, and oil-cup Bl, and apertures a2 b2, combined and constructed as herein set forth and described, for the purpose specified.
