Be it known that I, Hnnnr H. MILLER, a citizen of the United States,.rcsiding at Valparaiso, in the county of Porter and State of Indiana, have invented new and.useful Improvements in Hose Attachments, of which the following is a specification.

which is extremely simple in construction, which may be manufactured at slow cost, which is easily positioned within the ground, and which will effectively and securely as well as adjnstably retain a hose for sprinkling purposes.

With the above, and other objects in view,

. which will appear as the description progresses, the invention resides in the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter fully described and claimed.

Fig. 3 is an elevation of the rod showing the stop member in section thereon, the latter bein illustrated in its open position by the ful lines, and in its closed position by the dotted lines. Fig. 1 is a side elevation of one of the hose securing clamps. Fig. 5 is a. similar view of the opposite securing clamp section.

In the accompanying drawings the nu-' mera-l 1* designates the rod or standard.

This rod 1 may be constructed of any suitable material and has its lower extremity pointed as at 2', whereby the same may be readily inserted within the ground. The upper portion of the rod 1 is bent to provide an eye 3, the purpose of which will presently be set forth. Mounted upon the rod 1 is :12 Ste 1 member 4. This stop member 4 is prefera ly constructed of a single strip of suitable material and comprises a rounded body portion 5 having oppositely disposed ears 6. The ears 6 project a suitable distance awa from the body portion 5, and are connected\ together through the medium of a suitable removable pintle 7. By this arrangement, it 1 will be noted that when the step 4 is in theposition illustrated in Fig. 1 of the draw pintle iand the end of the body 4 will hear at o posite angles against't-he rod 1 so as to efi ectively hold the strip in its body brought to an rooted without operative position, and it will be further noted that the opening between the ears and the pintle 7 is sufiicient to allow theroundcd portion 5 of thestep 4: to fold snugly against the rod when the said step is'not operative position.

The object o the step, it will he understood, is to enable the operator'to insert the rod within the ground. This is accomplished by merely placing the foot upon thesaid step so that the weight of the operator will force the rod within the-ground'at any desired distance. i The step 4 is, as will be readily understood, vertically adjustable :upon the rod 1 and the depth at which the within the ground can rod is to be inserted by the adjustment of be readily regulated tho'said step.

The numerals 8 and 9 designate the hose clamping members. Bothof these members 8 and 9 comprise elongated bod portions 10 and 11, the same bein rounde in cross seetion and the said mein ers are'each centrally- -provided with depending ears 12 flIldf13.
