It may be observed that-the surface refuse of the street is loosened by the action of the brushes and that when thus agitated is drawninto the mouth of the suction funnels by the inrush of air caused by the partial vacuum created by blades 37 ofitherotary blower fan 36. Furthermore it may be notedthat by the lateral adjustment of the mechanism above described, the entire width of the street surface may be cleaned while the vehicle traverses the center'thereof.
