To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, JAMES FRED HAYES and ALFRED BowMAN, citizens of the United States, residing at Sequel, in the county of Santa Cruz, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the saine, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the characters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this application.

This invention relates to improvements in game apparatus for young and old and the particular obj ect of the present invention is to produce a game having an outline of a face with hollow eyes the scheme of the invention being to shoot the eyes in with marbles or the like.

A further object of the invention is to produce a simple and inexpensive device and yet one which is generally efficient for the purposes for which it is designed.

These objects we accomplish by means of such structure and relative arrangement of parts as will fully appear by a perusal of the following specification and claims.

In the-drawings similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.

Figure l is a front elevation of the complete device. Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on a line oc-fc of Fig. l. Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken on a line g/g/ of Fig. l.

Referring now more particularly to the characters of reference on the drawings l designates a boX or trough having a semicircular curved end 2 over the face of which is a plate 3 on which is depicted a human or other desired face, the said plate 3 having its lower edge spaced a distance from the bot-- tom of the member l as at 4. The eyes of the face are orifices 5 back of which are secured upwardly inclined pockets 6 open at their inner ends to the curved portion 2. The scheme of the game is to shoot marbles 7 into the pockets 6 to fit into the eye sockets 5 to form the eyes for the face. These marbles are shot along the trough l, pass under the plate 3 through the space 4, strike the curve 2 which either shoots them into the eye pockets G or returns them into the trough, the skill in the game being displayed by shooting said marbles into the pockets 6 a greater percentage of the time.

From the foregoing description, it will be readily seen that we have produced a game which can. afford amusement to both old and young and one which substantially fulfils the objects of the invention as set forth herein.

Vhile this specilication sets forth in detail the present and preferred construction of the device, still in practice such deviations from such detail may be resorted to as do not form a departure from the spirit of the invention.

Having thus described our invention what we claim as new and useful and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

l. A game apparatus comprising a trough having a cover over one end, a plate disposed in front of said covered end, openings in said plate, means to the rear of said openings for receiving objects and means for detlccting objects into said pockets, as described.

2. A game apparatus comprising a trough, a curved end on said trough, a plate disposed, in front of said curved end, openings in said plate, and pockets disposed to the rear of said openings and opening into said curved portion.
