To all whom it may concern:

Be 1t known that I, d asrinvs'ron Boszoii, a cltizen of the Unlted States, residing at Chicago in the county of Cook and State of Illinois have invented certain new and useful Improvements in VVheelbarrows; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to wheel barrows, and consists in the novel construction hereinafter set forth and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings forming part of this application: Figure 1 is a view of the device in side elevation. Fig. 2 is a front elevation. Fig. 3 is a top plan view. Fig. t is a view partly in vertical longitudinal section.

Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 indicates the body of the device the base of which is shown at 2, this body being mounted upon suitable side bars 8. Extending between the side bars 3 at their lower ends is an axle 4 upon which the wheel 5 is l/Vheel 8 is carried upon an axle 9 mounted between the legs 10 of the barrow, and hearing members 11 secured upon the outer sides of the legs serve to hold the axle last mentioned in proper position. The members 11 are secured by means of bolts passing through the legs and held in position by suitable nuts. "he purpose of the members 11 is to take the wear off of the legs which are usually formed of wood and do not pro vide suitable bearings.

Adjustable legs 12 are pivotally connected with the side bars 3 by means of a transverse rod 13 secured in position by nuts 14. The lower ends of members 12 are connected by another transverse rod 15 to one end of which an operating bar 16 is connected, such bar 16 being provided with a plurality of notches 17 arranged to engage a bar 18 extending transversely of the side bars 3, and provided with a bent portion 19 which may be turned down over the edge of one of the bars 3 as shown in dotted lines for the purpose of holding bar 17 in its adjusted position.

Legs 10 pass through slots formed in the Specification of Letters Patent.

side members 8 and are provided -with a plurality of apertures 20 providing means for adjustment. A rod 13 provided with a nut 1.4: passes through the side bars and through legs 10. Connected with the base portion 2 at one end are members 21 having apertures therein designed to receive the ends of rods 22 which are arranged within the body portion 01 the barrow, these rods being held in position by nuts 23, and being secured at their inner ends by means of a transverse bar 2% which passes through apertures in rods 22, and through other apertures in the sides of the body. The head of rod 2 1 is shown at 2d and the securing nut at 25.

The legs 10 extend tl'irough channels 26 formed in the sides of the body, and are retained at their upper ends by strips 27 bolted to the inner sides of the body portion.

l/Vhen the barrow is at rest the body portion is supported in part by the legs 12, the wheels 5 and 8 being arranged in alinement. Legs 12 are held in any desired position by the adjustment of the notched bar 16.

When it is desired to effect an adjustment by means of the legs 10, the proper connecting rods are removed temporarily, and are replaced after the parts have been shifted.

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. In a wheelbarrow a body portion, side bars for supporting the same, a wheel mounted between the ends of the side bars, adjustable members mounted perpendicularly with reference to the side bars, means for securing the body portion to the adjustable members and to the side bars, and a second. wheel mounted between the adjustable members.

2. In a wheelbarrow, a body portion, side bars for supporting the same, a wheel mounted between the ends of the side bars, adjustable members mounted perpendicularly with reference to the side bars, a second wheel mounted between the adjustable members in line with the wheel first mentioned, legs pivoted between the wheels, and arranged to be swung clear of the ground when both wheels are in contact therewith and means for holding the latter rigidly in a given position.

3. In a wheelbarrow. a body portion, side bars for supporting the same, a wheel mounted between the ends of the bars adjustable members arranged perpendicularly with reference to the side bars, a wheel mounted between the adjustable members, and a transverse rod passing through the sides of the body portion and through the adjustable members.

4. In a wheelbarrow, a body portion, side bars for supporting the same, a wheel mounted between the ends of the side bars, adjustable members arranged perpendicularly with reference to the side bars, a transverse bar connecting the sides of the body portion with the adjustable members, and rods connected with the transverse bar and arranged to retain one end of the body portion in position.

5. In a wheelbarrow, a body portion, side bars for supporting the same, means for supporting the lower ends of the side bars,
