Specification' of residing at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, havey invented certain' new and useful Improvements in Blowerspior Boilers, of which the following is a speication, reference being had therein to 'i the accompanying drawings. g 1o This invention relates to improvements in blowers for boilers and more particularlyV to a blower especially adapted for use 1n blowing tubular boilers of the marine type having several banks of'tubes.
The ob'ect ofthe invention 1s to provide ,a simple and ecient device for the purposewhich is so constructed as to adapt it to be i mounted within the breeching of a boiler and "to be turned therein to 'direct jets of steam into the several rows of tubes and so constructedthat. it will operate upon all of the tubes of a boiler when said tubes are arranged in several banks varying iu height.

Suitable joints 19 are provided to connect l the ends of the pipe 15 with the branches 16 and 17 to permit the free rotation of the pipe 15 and prevent the escape vof steam from the joint. A laterally extending'loop forming a header 20 is secured to the `pipe 15 within the breeching by short branches 21 extending laterally from the pipe 15 near cach side wall of the breeching and these branches are connected by a pipe extending .parallel with the pipe 15 andprovided with sof' a series of jet nozzles 22, a nozzlebeing provided for each vertical row of boiler tubes. When the steam pipe 15 is turned,the header 20 is rotatedY about said pi'pe and the nozzlesare thus brought successively into position to direct a jet of steam into eachof the tubes, and also into the lower ends of the tubes ll of the heater. v

It is obvious that the use o'f-th'e header 23 may be dispensed with inf-boilers of a construction which does not require such an extension in order toreach all of the tubes, and other details of theconstruction and arrangement btiparts may be changed without 'departingrom the 4spirit of my invention and I therefore do not wish to limit Anyself to the particular construction shown.

A device of the character described comprising a rotatable ipe having means intermediate' its ends orming a division wall, a supply pipe connected to one end of the rotatab e pipe, a. pipe extending arallel with the rotatable pipe and connecte to the opposite end thereof, said parallel (pipe being connected at the opposite en steam 'table pipe, a valve, controlling the 'flow of "steam from the supply pipe into theA parallel pipe, laterally extending branch pipes' on the rotatable pipe, a header pipe attached to the free endsnof the branch pipes,and means intermediate the ends of the header pipe forming alivision wall.

The combination with the breeching of a boiler, of a steam pipe extending horizontending through the breeching, a pipe rotac tively mounted in the breeching and extending parallel with the horizontal pipe, a branch pipe connecting one end of the rotatable pipe with the suppty pipe, a branch pipe Vconnecting the opposite end ot' the rotatable pipe with the horizontal'pipe, vmeans on the rotatable pipe outside of the breeching for'rotating said pipe, laterally extending branch pipes upon the rotatable pipe within the brccching, a header connected to the free ends of said branch pipes, and means within the rotatable pipe 'and header pipe intermediate the ends thereof formin division walls.
