SAFETY-RAZOR.
of'which the following is a specification. My invent on relates to safety razors and has for its object the production of a device of such character which'will be of .ex-
tremely simple construction,- hence of low cost to manufacture, and further one which great effectiveness and efficiency in operation.
Another object is the production of a; safety razor the comprising parts of'wluch" may be readily and easily assembled for use, or after use as readily and expeditiously be taken apart, and which, when taken apart, ma be compactly packed. ther objects will appear hereinafter.
\Vit-h these objects in wiew my invention consists in'a safety razor characterized as above mentioned and in certain details of construction'and arrangement of parts all as will be hereinafter fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

In order to prevent rotary movement of the blade, when in use,"the latter is provided in its respective .ektremities with notches 7 which, are adapted to be'snugly engaged by ,lugs 'SQformed upon the inner surfaces of thesaln I3 adjacent the peripheries of tl1e. proj.ections at thereof. Said lugs and said notches are so positioned relative to the bladeftha't, when the latter is arranged between the yoke arms 3 the cutting edge 6 thereof will be disposed in a slightly downwardly obliquely disposed position relative to the axis of the handl'e' l,
as clearly shown inFig. 2. The outer ends -sion-s that, when the blade-is arranged therebetween, the peripheralifdgestjof said ends will be flush with the outer surface of said blade.
hen using the razor, in which event the severing edge 6 is drawn over the skin in an obliquely disposed position, the edge 9 of the blade which is disposed in close proximity with the edge 6 will serve as a protection for the skin to prevent cutti ngthereof. Further, when in use,.-the la'then removed from the face by the blade will be deposited into the interior of the latter where it will be retained and prevented from accidentally dropping therefrom upon the floor or clothes of the user such as often happens with razors having blades of the ordinary flat type. order to attach or detach the blade it is only required tospring the yoke arms to the positions shown in dotted lines.

Havmg described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a safety razor, the combination of a tubularmember having a longitudinal opening at one side, one side 0 said opening being provided with a razor edge and the other side positioned relatively thereto to 3. In a safety razor, the combination of a blade, said blade comprising a split tube having one edge off-set slightly outwardly and sharpened whereby the other edge constitutes a guard for said sharpened edge, and a holder for said blade, substantially as de- I scribed.
4. In a safety razor, the. combination of a blade comprising a longitudinally split tube having one edge displosed tangentially to the body thereof and s arpened whereby the other edge constitutes a guard for said sharpened'edge, and a holder for said blade, substantially as described.
5. Ina safety razor, the combination of a I L handle having a resilient yoke at one end, a blade positioned between the arms of said yoke, said blade comprising a longitudinally split tube'having one ed e off-set slightlyoutwardly'and sharpene and the other edge forming a guard, positioning means for said blade provided upon the inner surfaces of said arm' and means for lockin said blade against rotary movement in saif yoke, substantially as described.

In a safety razor, the combination of a a handle havin a resilient yoke at one end, a blade detacha ly mounted between the arms of said yoke, said blade comprisin a longitudinally split tube having one e ge oil-set slightly outwardly and sharpened, and the other edge forming a guard, projections upon the inner sides of said arms for retaining said blade in position therebetween, and a lug upon each of said arms adapted to engage a notch provided in each extremity 0 said blade, substantially as described.
