The arrangement works as follows: After the end of the roll of hroniid of silver, peper u, has been drawn over the' transport rolls ol the liquid receptacle, this strip is fastened between the two rollers and 0. The rods g and fr, which are connected respectively with the plate mand the cover 0 and are necessary for the pressing and lighting of the paper, are so arranged, that the rods only litt up the cover o, when oy means of the rod g the Wooden plate m has pressed the paper against .the plate 7L', so that the lighting of the paper may not take place-too soon. When the pressure of the arm is released from the lever Z, the latter goes hack into its place, and with it also the rods Qiand r. ils soon as the copying is inishcd, the cog-wl1eels e and catch into each other again, and the hromid of silver strip is pushed on farther the length of apicture, a'. c., until the interval on the cog-vvheel e comes again to the cog-Wheel Now the' paper ivhieh has heen pushed forward is *again exposed to the light, as already described, and so on. The copied strips are new tirst all brought from the roller s into the receptacle Az', containing developer, and passed over the roller a and the hot-tom ot' tank, up to the roller o, which positioned overthe partitionv between the receptacles or con'ipartments for the developing and fixing solutions. Through this arrangement of the rollers, the strip to he developed is drawn through the receptacle, and thereby hassutiicient time to develop. Reference has heretofore been made 'to the means for moving the cover and plate successively, that is to say, movingithe plate so as to engage the sensitized inaterial'prior tothe time the cover is lifted to such an extent' as to admit light, and in carrying out that feature of the invention, the said plate has a-rod @attached to, it, and the cover has connection with the rod r-to which the lever Z ispivotally connected. The lower end of l the rod r hasan angular portion r through which the rod g extends, and the said rod Q also has a shoulder g to engage a spring gf, which spring is interposed between the shoulder g and the end r' of therod 1 As the lever is oscillated, therefore, movement is communicated to the rod o', which in turn, through the agency of the spring, communicates motion to the lrod g, thus causing the plate to hear against the sensi# tized material in order that it .may be pressed against the photographic plate '-L, prior 'to the admission of light, as stated.
