Patentd Nov;22,1910.
A TTORIVEY.
' shown and described in Letters Patent of the to which water may be supplied under presthe lower ends of the walls 14 and 15 form- JULIUS M. KAMINSKY, 0F INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA. DBINKING-I FOUNE'AIN.
Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Nov. 22, 1910. Application filed December 23, 1909. Serial No. 534,645.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JULIUS M. KAMINSKY, of Indianapolis, county of Marion, and State of Indiana, have invented a certain new and useful Drinking-Fountain; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference betinuous sheet of water there ing had to the accompanying drawings. center, and as the construction is arranged The object of this invention is to provide in Fi 1, the sheet of water is upwardly inan improved and modified construction of clinef toward the center and when ,it meets drinking fountains as compared with that at'the center, a large said projections 31 being secured between the main portion of the head 10 and the cap 30 thereon.
- The discharge end of the passa eway chamber 13, at the upper, end of the evice, is annular so as to discharge a single conportion of the water projects upwardly forming a geyser-like column of water 1 to which a person can apply his mouth for drinking, and therefrom the water descends United States, Serial No. to me Nov. 23, 1909. I The chief feature of this invention con- 940,87 9, granted slsts 'in providing means for discharging into space a single, continuous, annular sheet or b0 y of water to acentral point 1n such the openings 18 in the lower part of't e manner that a geyser-like column of water nozzle'construction. This makes of the de vice a practical, sanitary drinking fountain.
The modified form in Fig. .4 is on the same principle as that in Fi l excepting it is arranged so that the out et is formed to discharge the water horizontally to a central point. In that event there would be a smaller proportion that would plunge up- .wardly to make the geyser-like extensions witha suflicient will be thrown upwardly at such central point, whereby a person can apply his mouth isforced through a nozzle device having a substantially continuous annular outlet.
The nature of the invention will be understood from the accompanying drawings and the following description and claims.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a central verwould be ample for drinking purposes. tical section through such a device showing What I claim as my invention and desire the movement of water after leaving the anto secure by Letters Patentis: nular nozzle. Fig. 2 is a section on the line 1'. A drinking fountain including a nozzle 2-2- of Fig. -1. Fig. 3 is a section on the construction to which water maybe supplied line 33 of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a central ver- .under pressure with an annularly disposed tical section I outlet at the up er end thereof adapted to such device. discharge a sin e sheet of water to a cen- There is shown In thedrawlngs a head 10 through a modified form of column of water will, rise there rom, sub- It has a chamber 11 therein and a stantially as set forth. cap 30 that screws on the upper end of said 2. A king fountain including a nozzle head to complete the head. From the chamconstruction to which water may be supplied ber 11 there are radially and horizontally under pressure with an annularly disposed disposed ports 12 that communicate with a outlet at the upper end thereof that is incontinuous annular passageway 13 between clined upwardly so as to the inner and outer walls 14 and 15 of the sheet of water at an upward inclination to a barging nozzle construction. The pascentral point, so that an upward geyser-like sageway 13 is a single one and annular, and 1 column of water will rise therefrom. 3. A drinking fountain including a nozzle mg said passageway 13 are secured to said he radial projections 31 through which the ports 12 extend, the inner ends of between the inner and rom toward the tral point so tia't' an upward eyser-like central of said opemng,
i the escape of water descending from the 10 discharge in the upper end thereof.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto aflixed my signature in the presence of the witnesses herein named.
' JULIUS M. KAMINSKY.
