ALFRED TRIEBLING, OF NEU SANDEC, AUSTRIA-HUNGARY.
COLOR-BOX.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 22, 1910.
Application filed March 26, 1910. Serial No. 551,796.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALFRED TRIEBLING, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, residing at Neu Sandec, Galicia, Austria- Hungary, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Color-Boxes, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a color-box for the reception of circular paint tablets and consists in the provision of a tray for holding the tablets adapted to be supported in upright position and having cups arranged underneath each tablet so as to receive the paint which drips from the latter after it has been moistened.
The object of the arrangement is to facilitate the appropriation of the paint as well as to prevent waste of the same.
In the accompanying drawing the invention is illustrated, the improved color box being shown in open position.
Figure 1 is a front view, and Fig. 2, a side view, partly in section.
The color-box consists of a tray or on which the paint tablets are arranged in recesses Z), in the usual manner, and held there by means of V-shaped springs 70, the members of which are adapted to press against the edges of the tablets which are thicker than the recesses are deep. Only one of these springs is shown in the figure. Underneath each recess b, a cup 0 is arranged which is adapted to receive the moistened color flowing from the tablet. Grooves (Z in the tray conduct the color from the recesses Z) into the cups. Brackets Z may also be provided on the tray for the temporary reception of brushes and other articles during the work. Hinged coversf are provided at both sides of the tray and adapted to close around the latter. When the box is opened, said colors are placed in alinement so as to support the tray a in vertical position. This position of the tray is maintained also when the box is closed up and carried, in that a carrying handle 9 is provided on the upper end of the tray.
An incision is made at the-lower end of the tray for the reception of a water receptacle 7a.
The covers f may be fitted with saucers i and with spring clips 70 for holding paper, brushes and the like.
As the tray is maintained in vertical position and the moistened color collected in the cups, waste of color is completely obviated; besides, the work is greatly facilitated and the color-box alwavs kept clean.
I claim:
1. A color-box comprising in combination, a tray having recesses for the reception of circular paint tablets, covers hinged to the lower end of the tray and adapted, when opened, to support the tray in vertical position, and cups arranged on said tray underneath the recesses so as to receive the moistened paint flowing from the tablets, substantially as set forth.
2. A color-box comprising in combination, a tray having recesses for the reception of circular paint tablets and grooves for conducting the moistened paint from said recesses, cups arranged underneath said grooves so as to receive the paint, and covers at both sides of the tray, said covers being hinged to the lower end of the tray and adapted, when opened, to support the same in vertical position, substantially as set forth.
3. A color-box comprising in combination, a tray having an incision at its lower part for the reception of a water receptacle and recesses for the reception of circular paint tablets, cups arranged underneath said recesses so as to receive the moistened paint flowing from said tablets, covers hinged at both sides to the lower end of the tray and adapted, when opened, to support the tray in vertical position, and a carrying handle fitted to the upper end of the tray so as to maintain the vertical position of the tray \tvhen the box is carried, substantially as set orth.
ALFRED TRIEBLING.
WVitnesses HEINRICH DOURIEL, AUGUST FUGGER.
