EMILE BONNIN, OF KREMLIN-BICETRE, FRANCE.
BUGKING APPARATUS.
of KremlinBictre, Seine, France, have invented certain new and useful Improve ments in Bucking Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a bucking apparatus which is constructed in such a manner, that the temperature of the lye, which with the devices of known constructions is limited to about 80, may be raised to the boiling point.
The apparatus essentially consists of an injector of particular construction which operates with the aid of hot or cold air.
In the accompanying drawings the apparatus is shown in vertical section.
Figure 1 represents the injector and accessory parts. Fig. 2 shows on a smaller scale a vertical section of the complete tub and its immediate connections.
The improved apparatus is constructed as follows :Under the bottom of the buckingtub a cup or, is fixed which communicates with the tub by the perforations of the plate A cylindrical tube 9 is mounted at the center of the bottom of cup 64 which is surrounded by a tube of larger diameter h, which is higher than the cylindrical tube 9 and traversing the bottom of the bucking tub reaches up to about 3 inches below the perforated plate j upon which the textile goods are placed. The rising tube z of rather large diameter is fixed in the bottom of the tub, concentric with the protecting tube It. The rising tube 2' is open at the top and at the bottom.
A cylindrical chamber 6 is arranged below the bottom of cup a in prolongation of tube g. In the bottom end of said chamber 6 a conical nozzle 7) is mounted. The conical annular space around said nozzle communicates by a horizontal channel f with a reservoir which contains hot or cold, but in any case absolutely dry air.
The apparatus operates as follows :The

lye contained in the bucking tub and in cup a usually fills the tub up to some inches above the perforated partition 7' upon which rests the linen or other material to be treated. The lye rises through tube 2' and flows over the material to be treated. Steam under pressure is blown through the boring c of the conical nozzle b and cold or heated air is blown in through the horizontal channel f, said air forming a mantle around the steam jet and both jets rising together up through the cylindrical tube 9 and through the protecting tube It into the rising tube 6, accelerate and activate the rising of the lye in sucha manner, that the lye circulates even when it has been heated up to the maximum temperature, which is very close to the boiling temperature.
It is to be understood that constructional details of the apparatus may be altered according to requirement, provided that the essential features of the apparatus, as setforth in the claim be preserved.
What I claim as my invention is An improved bucking apparatus comprising in combination with the bucking tub and the rising tube for the lye and the perforated horizontal partition for the material to be treated, a cup below the bottom of the bucking tub, a cylindrical tube mounted on the center of said cup, a protecting tube of larger diameter and greater height than said cylindrical tube projecting through the bottom of the bucking tub and reaching up to some inches below the level of said perforated horizontal partition, a cylindrical chamber extending below the bottom of said lye cup in prolongation of the cylindrical tube, a conical nozzle connected with a steam supply in said chamber and a horizontal pipe connecting said chamber with an air reservoir, substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
