To whom it'inwy concern:

Be it known that I, WHEELER CAsE, of Russia', Herkimer county, New York, have invented n new end useful Boot-Jack; and I do hereby declare that the following-is `eteleon', full, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying y(hearings, ondule the letters of reference marked thereon.

This invention relates to boot-jacks and It consists irl-constructing the same in two p zufts,l y hinged nt the centre, or thereahont, as herein shown nnddesoribed.

The object of z ny invention is to furnish the publie with e jack, light, nent, uheap, and o'onvenient, ond oa.- pable of being folded in aeompaietY-form, for transportation.

A is Vthe rest, the inner portion of which rests upon the floor, and upon which thefoot is plaieed, to hold the jeuk down while the boot is being drawn.

A is an arm ofthe restA, and is enclosed between the ends of the loop B, and there firmly secured by the bolt O, which passes through the end thereof'.

B is the loop, being bevelled on its inside surface,

as shown in iig. 4 of the drawings, to canse it the moreY iirmly to gripe the beel of the boot. i

Theheel engages at' the point indicated by the letters b 11, the toe at the point indicated by'tbe letterf,

thus enabling one to draw his boot with'ease and fa-v eility.

O is ebelt or pivot, passing through the ends of the 'loop VB and arm A', being fastened thereto by nut G'.

I) D' are projections or Asupports on the inner ends of the loop, cnusing the jock to raise diagonally from the floor, and aliowing sufficient depth for the insertion of theboot. v y
