The shoulder loops G and G are preferably of the eonstruction .shown and described in the Letters Patent' ot' the United States for ashonlder brace, llo. 903,073, granted to nie November 3,' 1908, so that further detail description of this part of the abdominal supporter is not deemed necessary. Now by extending Ithe, back sti-aps P, A1"' from the lower portion of the sides of the body sections A, and passing the same obliqnely upward and rearward, a corresponding pull-1s exerted on 4the lower portion .of the abdominal pad sections .-1 and A', so' that, the p ad properly,supports the alidonen, without. danger of the. pad slippimIr upward, as no vertical pull but. a diagonapull across the back of thc wearer is exerted on the pad sections.

It will be noticed, by reference to Figs. land 2, that the back straps F and F.' cross the waist line of the wearer at or immediately in the rear of the sides, so thatthe pull exerted on the abdominal pad is eX- erted in the right direction. By crossing t-he back straps'F, F' on the back of the wearer and connecting the same with oppo- ,site shoulders, the device acts as e shoulder brace, thus insuring an upright, healthy carriage of the wearer, at the same time sucient yieldin is vhad for the comfort of the wearer. T e hip pieces D and D are preferably extended downward at the front, a distance below the lower ends of the sides of the abdominal pad sections A and A as plainly indicated in Fi 2, so that the hip pieces D and D exten .properly over the.-4 ips of the wearer. It will also b enoticed that by .attaching the hose supporters H andl H in the manner described 'and shown, a straight downwardpull is exerted on the abdommal supporter to reduce an tendency dominal pad, the said back straps crossing at the back of the wearer and their shoulder loops engaging op )osite shoulders, the said back straps exten ing obliquely, upwardly and rearwardly from the lower` ortions of the sides of the said abdominall pad and passing over the said hi pieces.. the said straps-exerting a rearn-artv and upward pull on the lower portion of the abdominal pad from the o )posite shoulders of the wearerff 2. An abdominal supporter, comprsin an abdominal pad made 1n sections fastene 'together at the front, hip pieces laced to the si es of the said pad sections and laced together at the back, the said hip pieces being extended downward beyond the sides of the pad sections, and crossing back straps secured to the lower side portions of the pad sections, vadjacent to the lacing connection with the hip pieces, vand extending rear# wardly and upwardly over the said lacing connection and said hip pieces, the sai 'back straps termlnatlng 111..,sl1oulder loops for engagement with the wearers-s'houlders. 4. An abdominal supporter, comprisin an abdominal pad made in sections fastene together at the front, hip pieces laced to the sides of the said pad and secured together at -the back, and crossing back straps secured vi'or securing them together at the front, the

lower portion of the pad sections extending vinwarc to properly fit the lower portion of the abdomen, hip pieces laced to the side edges of the pad sections and adapted to be secured together at the back of the wearer, tlle'said hip pieces extending (.lownward at the front below the lower ends of 'the sides of the pad sections, and lau-k straps secured to the lower portion of the front pad seetions at the sides thereof, and extending obliquely rearward and upward, the said straps vcrossin the ylacing connections between the pa sections and the hip pieces and assing across the said hip pieces, the said ack straps crossing the waist line of the' wearer at the sides and crossing each other at the back of the wearer and terminating in shoulder loops.
