The glass cnn, of course, be removed by reversing the opera-tions performed in assembling.
[n Figs. (i, 'i' und 8, the sume general construction is followed :is in Figs. 1 to 5. In lien, however, of the coved portions 26, the upper margin of the plate 14 and corresponding portions of the plates of which the side und top bars are formed, are offset outwardly, ns shown at 45, and continued upwardly in the same pla-ne as the plate 15 of the bottom bar und corresponding portions of the side and top hairs, its upper edge being bent inwardly, as shown at 46. The keys 47, 48 and 49 are of less thickness, and the side and top bars, instead of channeled, are apertured, as shown at 50 and 51, to permit the entry of the top and side keys. As illustrated at 52, the outer side bars may be longgitudinnllyT channeled.
I claim as my invention- 1. In a window sash, in combination, a har having n longitudinal shouldered seat for n plate of Glass, an instanding flange facing thc shoulder, a resilient plate adapted to be interposed between the flange and a plate of glass occupying the seat, and u key interposed between the flange and the resilient plate.
2. In a window sash, in combination, u bar formed of sheet metal wrought to tubular form, the inner margin of the bar having a shouldered seat for a plate of glass :ind a channel at the opposite side of the scat from the shoulder, a. flange rejecting from the outer well of the channe and having its margin directed inward, a resilient retaining strip fitted within the channel and projecting beyond the (lun c, sind it kc rod inter ed between the ci ge of the ange und the retaining strip. In it win ow sash, in combination, u bor formed of sheet metal wrought to tubular form, the inner margin of the bar having it shouldered seat for a plate of glass und a channel at the opposite side of the seat from the shoulder, a flange rojecting from the outer wall of the channeiaiid having its margin directed inward, a resilient retaining stri fitted within the channel and projecting yond the flange, and a key rod interposed between the edge of the flange and the retainin strip au having its inner face longitu inally grooved.
5. In a window sash, in combination, a bar formed of sheet metal wrou ht to tubulnr form, the inner margin of te bar having a shouldered seat for a plate of glass and a channel at the opposite side of the sent from the shoulder, a flange projecting from the outer wall of the channel and having its margin directed inward, a resilient retaining stri tted Within the channel and (projecting yond the flange, and a key ro interposed between the edge of the flange and the retaining strip and having its inner and outer faces longitudinally grooved- 6. In a Window sash, in combination, to J, bottom and side bars each hnvi U a shou dered seat for a. plate of glass, a ange facing and having its edge directed toward the seat, resilient retaining plates inside the iianges, and key rods fitting between the anges and the retaining plates, certain of the sash bars transversely recessed to permit the entry o the key rods.
