IMPROVEMENT IN CAN-HANDLES.

The Schedule referredfto in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

I, L. A. SUNDERLAND, of Madison, in the county,

of Lake, and. State of Ohio, have' invented certain Improvements in Gan-Handles, of which the following is a speciiication.

The nature of this improvement relates to the construction of a handle for milk-cans, in such a manner that the shank shall form-a journal upon which the can may turn, for the purpose of dumping the same for emptying it. It is designed for large, or dairy-cans, `that are heavy and difficult to handle.

There is also a` lug, o, on the shank B, against which the handle bears when it is up in the position seen by the dotted lines in iig. 2, leaving ample room for the hand in carrying the can.

When the can is to be dumped, it is setinto a frame,

orany suitable contrivance, having bearings for the shank B, when the can may be swung entirely over, thus easily emptying it of lits cont-ents;
