3 and I do hereby declare thatthe following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying The object of this invention is to provide a-convenient, light, cheap, simply ap lied and readily removable handle for telep one receivers adapted not only to. support the receiver while the telephone is being used,

but also at all other times, and to that end it is so formed as to be readily placed upon the telephone hook, whereby the hook supports the handle and the handle supports the receiver.

The nature of the invention will be understood from the accompanying drawings and the'following description and claims.

The handle for the tele hone receiver consists of a singlepiece 0 metal, preferably sheet metal, folded substantially midway its ends to form a comparativel -.long cylindrical loop portion 15 adapte to surround the receiver between its ends, as shown in Fi 1. This portion 15 may be called the ho der of the receiver and from it the ends of the plate of sheet metal )roject to form thc'handle portions 16; as s own in Fig. 2.. The two handle portions 16 are continuations of the circular holder 15 and the material is folded laterally to strengthen the handle and one member thereof is. provided with :1 turned end to form a catch 17 adapted to receive theend of the other member when they are s rung together, and thereby the-extreme on s of the two'members are held together to form the handle. balancedon the handle not only while using the receiver, but while on the telephone hook. In the latter position the handle extends between thetwo endsof-the' telephone hook while the circular holder 15 rests horizontally upon the twoends of thetelephone hook, as s iown in Fi 1.

Before the handle 1s placed upon the receiver the twoextreme ends thereof are separated ands rung apart far enough to enable the circu ar holder 15 to be. rcadily receiver. Then the two members of -the handle 16 are sprung together until their ends engage spring-like as has been explained. The. handle, when once put in place, neednotbe changed or removed and lb'lS never in the way and alwaysextends rigidly from the holder .or telephone rcceivcr, and is, therefore, a very convenient and useful article, chea to make and easy to place and use. The older 15 is only of one thickness of metal and, therefore, is light and the handle is folded in two or more thicknesses so as to be strong.

-I claim as my invention:

1. A handle for a telephone receiver including a holder portion adapted to embrace and hold a receiver between its ends and a handle portion ri 'i'dly extending at'an angle therefrom and ailapted to be inserted vertically between the ends of a telcphonelmok, whereby the handle will be supported on the hook and the receiver supported horizontally by the handle while the latter is on the bent about midway its ends so 'as to provide Maggi:
