Be it known that I, EMIL R. ERNST, a subject of the German Emperor, and a resi- New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Game Apparatus, ofwhich the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The object of the invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive game apparatus which serves to afford amusement, entertainment and instruction to children as well as adults, which can be employed for the playing of games by different numbers of players, with which different sets of rules governing the playing thereof can be employed, and which is compact in form, so that it will take up little space when not in use.

The invention consists in the construction and combination of parts to be more fully described hereinafter and particularly set forth in the claims.

\ Reference is to be had to the accompanyingdrawings forming a part of this speciiication, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both views, and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of my invention; and Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the device.

Before proceeding to a more detailed explanation of my Invention, it should be clearly understood that the apparatus can be fashioned in different sizes and from different materials, such as sheet metal, heavy cardboard, or the like. The projectile, as does the object member, consists preferably of a sphere of suitable size, similar, for example, to a marble.

`While I have shown in the accompanying drawings, the projectile being advanced by using the fingers, if so desired a suitable projecting device such as a spring gun or the vided with' like can be employed to shoot the projectile against the member. Certain of the details of `construction shown for example in the accompanying drawings, form no part of the invention, and can be varied in accordance with individual preference and special conditions, without departing from the underlying spirit of the invention. v

Referring more particularly to the drawings, I employ a board of preferably spherical form, having about the periphery thereof an upwardly disposed rim 11, proan inwardly disposed flange 12 at the upper edge, the flange projecting inwardly over the board. The board has a plurality of divisions 13 and 14, indicated thereon by printing, stamping or in any other isuitable manner. As illustrated for example, the divisions are formed by radial lines and a circular line concentric with the board. Valuesl, represented for example, by numbers, are indicated upon the divisions. These values are arbitrarily chosen, and preferably differ from one another.

Located centrally with respect to the board is a support 1G, consisting of a post secured near the center of the board by means of a screw 17, or in any other suitable manner, and projecting perpendicularly from the surface of the thoard. -Ithas a depression or concavity 18 in the. top thereof, so that it is adapted to receive and hold an object member 19, consisting of a small sphere. The flanged rim 12 acts as a support for a projectile member 20, which also consists of a small sphere. The projectile member can be positioned at any point of the flange 12, so that it can be snapped by the fingers, or otherwise projected toward and against the object member 19. The desired course of the projectile 20 is indicated by the broken line 21 in Fig. 1. It is necessary to strike the object slightly under the center thereof so that the projectile will rebound partly from the object member and partly from the support 16, to assume a position upon the board. The impact of the projectile against the object member 19, if the projectile is properly directed, 'will hurl the object from the board, the course being indicated by the broken line 22.

Any desired rules can be employed with the game apparatus. Preferably it is considered a miss if the object is not hurled `beyond the board, and if the projectile failsl to fall upon the surface thereof. The value of the shot of course, is indicated by the division of the board upon which the projectile comes to rest.

Having thus described my invention, I claimas new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. Game apparatus, comprising a board having values indicated thereon, and provided with a support for a projectile, said board having a second support for a removable object member adapted to be struck by the projectile, to displace the object member so that the projectile can fall upon said board.

2. Game apparatus, comprising a board having values indicated thereon, and provided with an elongated support adapted to receive thereon a projectile at any one of a plurality of points, said board having within the connes thereof a second support, for a removable object member vadapted to be struck and displaced by the projectile.

3. Game apparatus, comprising a board having a flanged rim constituting a support for a projectile, and provided within said rim with a vsecond support, for an object member adapted to be struck and displaced by said projectile, whereby said projectile can fall upon said board. f

Game apparatus, comprising a board having a flanged rim constituting a projectile support, said board having a substantially centralsupport adapted to carry an object member, said support and said rim being of substantially equal height, said board having indicated thereon, subdivisions representing different values.
