Be it. known that I, lnANii I. lloniaxcswonrii, a citizen ofthe United States, resid ing at Denver, in the county of Denver and State of Colorado, have iuvented'new and useful Improvements in Combined Gas and Electric-Light Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements inl combined gas and electric light fixtures and has for one of its objects the provision of a coupling for uniting the lainp soci-:et with the gas service pipe, the said coupling havking an opening to receive the conducting wires for the electric lamp and another opening separated from the tirst opening for establishing communication between the gas burner and gas service pipe.
Another object is the provision of an `electric lamp socket exterioi'ly provided with a shoulder having a stepped surface to form bearing surfaces for different diameters of casings employed to receive the gas service pipe and coupling, whereby the provision of the usual finishing collar which is frequently employed to couple one end of the easing with the lamp socket will be elin'iinated.

the present. invention consists in certain novel details of construction ,and arrangement of iarts, hereinafter fully described, illnstrat in the accompanying drawings and more particularly pointed outy in the' appended claims; it being understood that various changes in the forni, proport ion, size, and minor details of the device. may be made, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a )art of the specitication;-l"igure l is a side elevation of a portion of a chandelier or hanger constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the lateral arm of the cli. lier and lamp socket. Fig. 3 is a detail perspective of a lamp socket showing my improved head applied thereto. Fig. 4 is a detail perspective of t-lie coupling. Fig. 5 is a side elevation of the electric lamp socket. and one arm of a chandelier when the device fixture and showing a plurality of easings in longitudinalsection and 'applied to the head.
