To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES ERNEST SHoUsE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Louisville, in the county of J efierson and State of Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ink-Scraper Attachments for Penholders,
of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to penholders, and primarily to an attachment for penholders which may be used for erasing.
It has in view the provision of a device of the above character which may be applied or attached to the penholder adjacent to the pen-holding portion, the same being used, easily, without changing the position of'the penholder, for erasing any mark which the operator may wish to eradicate.
With the aboveand other objects in view, this invention consists of the construction, combination and arrangement of parts all as hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein:

Referrin more particularly to the drawings 1 in icates the plate having lateral projections or spring members extending therefrom and on each side thereof, the same being adapted to engage the penholder for retaining the evice thereto. The preferable construction as shown in Fig. 4 has a' plurality of spaced spring members or wings 2- projecting from one side of the plate and a .single spring member or wing 3 projecting from the opposite side of the plate, and when attached to the penholder is adapted to fit intermediate the members 2. As will be seen from the foregoing description the device comprises a body having oppositely extending circular members, said members being in alinement with each other forming a cylindrical-shaped hollow body.
What is claimed as new is:
1.. The combination with a penholder, 013 an eraser consisting of a plate having spaced retaining wings extending laterally on one edge, and a single retaining win intermediate said spaced wings and exten ing laterally from the opposite edge, said wings fittin about the penholder and forming a cylmdrical hollow body, and a longitudinal projection twisted approximately parallel with the writing surface and provided with a cutting edge for the purpose herein set forth. 2. The combination with a penholder, of
an eraser consisting of a plate 1, having spaced spring wings 2 extending laterally from one edge, an intermediate spring wing 3 extending laterally from the opposite edge, and a longitudinal resilient projection 4 twisted out of alinement with the penholder and extending from the outer end of the plate 1, to a plane approximately parallel with the writing surface and provided with a cutting edge at the portion most remote from the penholder for the purpose herein set forth.
