Be it known that I, ELMER H. JOHNSON, citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of VNew York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specication.

This invention relates to game apparatus and refers particularly to a novel form of game board which is provided with a track, or the like,

is moved, representing a vehicle passing over face with a central longitudinal slot 15 to enable the riding of the block 14 over the upper edges of the strips 12.

At frequent intervals upon the face of the board 10 are positioned points of intersection where the strips 12 cross one another' in order to form by-passes for the movable object 13 and in order to make it difficult for the player to keep the object upon the main track or road during the operation of the apparatus. At the intersections of the strips 12 the same are interrupted at spaced points, the distance between the ends of the strips 12 being equal to the length of the block 14 to permit of the disengaging of the block 14 from the strips 12 in order to partially rotate the same to thereby register the block 14 with the strip 12 positioned'at an angle to the strip upon which it was originally positioned. Circular strips 16 are engaged about the points of intersection and are registered at their inner faces with the extremities of the strips 12 and spaced from the same for the purpose of retaining the blocks 14 in position and to admit of the passage of the opposite sides of the block 14 from the circular strips 16 and to enter upon one of the upwardly extending strips 12 The track or road which is represented upon the game board is porovided with a block 17 against which the lock 14 abuts when the ame is started and is provided with a second block or stop 18 at the opposite end of the track or road in order to designate the termination of the track and to which block thedmovable object 13 is adapted to be carrie In operating the apparatus the block 14 is ositioned upon the strip 12 adjacent the block 17 and moved along the strip 12 and about the board, the player endeavoring to slide the block 14 to the stop 18 in the least possible time. An object of this invention is to form a game board over which a movable object is passed and which is provided with a track, or intersecting road, to form a tortuous path for the object which is controlled by any adaptable form of rules which the player desires to apply to the device.

The chief object of the apparatus is to form a track which is intersected with pluralities of cross tracks in order to make it diflicult to carry the movable object over the face of the game board and to carry the same to a designated point.

For a full understanding of the invention reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which l Figure 1 is a top plan view of the complete game board. Fig. 3 is a detailed perspective view of one of the intersections positioned upon the board, and Fig. 4 is a detail perspective view of the movable object employed.

Having thus described the invention what is claimed as new is:
