To all 'whom it may-concern:
'Be it known that I,`S1G NONo C. MUNoz, a citizen of the United States, and a resident ofthe city of Montclair, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvementsin Water-Tube Boilers, of which the following is ay specification, reference beingl had to the -accomfpanying drawings, forming a part hereo Y .l
In awater tube boiler it is lwell known that the lowermost tubes, which are arranged directly 'over the ire grate and upon which the direct heat of the lire imping'es, do from 55 to 65- perv centum of the entire work done by the boiler, and that in prac.
tice about 90 per centum of the repair work required to be done on a water tube boiler 1 is upon these lowermost tubes which are destroyed through the action of the heat, owing to aninsuicient supply of wat/er, .the water being generally circulated to them Afrom above and passin through all ofthe upper tubes before reac in the lower ones.
It is therefore particulary necessary to keep the lower tubes well supplied Yfvv'ithy water in order to` guard against the burning out of such tubes. f p
As a general' rule, in water tube boilers, the water is fed into one of the-drums, usually the upper drum, `and then down the vertical headers or water legs into the horizontal tubes, the water, asi is obvious, thus supplying the upper horizontal tubes while permitting' the owermost tubes, unless the 4horizontal tubes are very few in number and the circulation is very free, to become deprived of water, to be choked with sediment,

In accordance with the present invention, the water. su ply is arranged to feed the lowermost tu es over the fire grate in a direct manner or before the uppermost tubes are fed so that these lowermost tubes shall Vat all times be properly filled.-
