Another object of the invention is to provide a car (it thi haracter with-means whereby the edge oi the body may lie pro jccted beyond the frame of the car a considerable distaucewvlwu in lumping position so that thrmaterial contained in the car may be deposited beyond the. ends of the tie of a railroad track on whi h said car is moving.
A third object of the invention is to provide a novel means of healing the car body lcvel on the frame. A fourth object of the invention is to provide a novel means of locking the doors of a-car of this class. the means being either manually relea able for dumpin; the car when leveh or automatically releasable for l dumping the car when tilted.
A fifth object otthe invention is to provide improved means for locking the releasing means agaimt accidental release.
'ith the above and other objects in view the invention consists of-a wheel supported t'rame whez'con is mounted a car body or box adapted to be tilted to either side of the frame, together with improved locking means for the body and for lateral doors hinged thereto.
The invention further consists in certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the aceoinpanving drawings, and specifically set forth in the claims.

In the form of the device here shown the car is supported on spaced trucks 2) provided with the usual car wheels 21 arranged to run upon rails of the ordinary character. (arried on these trucks is a car frame 22 and this car frame is provided with transverse members 23 when-on are carried filler blocks 24. In order to retain the tilting body in its level position suitable locking nieans are provided.
