LOUIS A. SIEBERT AND CHARLES M. SIEBERT, JR., OF COLUMBUS, OHIO, ASSIGNORS TO THE SIEBERT-WELCI-I COMPANY, 0F COLUMBUS, OHIO, A CORPORATION OF OHIO.
MASSAGE APPARATUS.
To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, LoUIs A. SIEBERT and CHARLES M. SIEBERT, J r., citizens of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvenients in Massage Apparatus, of which the following is a specication.
This invention relates to massage apparatus, the object of said invention being the provision of a massage device adapted for use in massaging internal portions of the body and one so constructed as to render possible the massaging of any given portion of the internal passages of the human body without aifecting the other port-ions of such passages.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will be set forth in the detailed description which now follows.
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a side elevation of a massage device constructed in accordance with the invention, Fig. 2 is a sectional view upon the line m-az of Fig. l, and Fig. 3 is a sectional view upon line g/-Q/ of Fig. 2.
Like numerals designate corresponding parts in all of the figures of the drawing.
The numeral 5 upon the drawing designates the tubular stem of a cup-like cap 6. This cap `is threaded upon the neck 7 of a preferably hard rubber casing 8. The neck 7 is provided with an annular recess 9 into which a portion of a soft rubber bag 10 is clamped by an annular rib l1, said rib being formed upon the cap G.
One or more preferably elongated open` ings are formed in the wall of the casing 8 andthe soft rubber bag protrudes through these openings l2 when air or water under pressure is admitted to the interior of said bag through the stem 5, it being understood that said stem is to be connected by an ordinary rubber tube with any desired form of massage machine in the usual manner.
It is apparent from the foregoing description that a rapid pulsation of the rubber bag through the opening or openings l2 may be secured by alternately admitting air Specification of Letters Patent.

or water under pressure and releasing said air or water through the stem 5. The same result may be achieved by creating alternate pressure and vacuum in the stem 5 by means of any of the well known forms of massage machines commonly employed for such puroose.
1 In use the casing 8 is inserted in the passage, the internal walls of which it is desired to massage. The pulsations of the rubber bag against the walls of the passage through the openings or opening l2 results in stimulating and massaging the parts so treated and ,aords eiiicient means for massaging the interiors of the passages of the human body and also provides means for localizing such treatment to whatever eX- tent may be found desirable.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that simple and efficient means are herein provided for accomplishing the objects of the invention but while the elements herein shown and described are well adapted to serve the purposes for which they are intended, it is .to be understood that the invention is not limited to the precise construction set forth, but includes within its purview such changes as may be made within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described our invention what we claim is l. In a massage device the combination with a casing adapted to be inserted within the body, of a flexible lining within said casing adapted to protrude through an opening formed in the wall of said casing and means for conducting pressure fluid to the interior of said iiexible lining.
2. In a massage device the combination with a casing adapted to be inserted within the body and havin openings formed in the side walls thereo of a flexible bag located within said casing and means for admitting pressure fluid to the interior of said bag.
8. In a massage apparatus the combination with an elongated casing adapted to be inserted within the body, of a flexible bag In testimony whereof We ax our signatures 1n presence of tWo Wltnesses.
