.Referring now to Figs. 1- and 3, the construction of the emergency valve operating mechanism will be described. The spindle 53 carrying 'the latch extends-through the valve chest, and fixed to the end thereofis alever 56 havin a pin-and-slot connection 56 with thea justable 'link 57.
