To all whom "it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN G. KIRKPAT- RICK, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Prescott, in the county of Yavapai and Territoryof Arizona, have invented a new and Improved Adjustable Ironing- Board, of which'the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates to ironing boards, and the object of the invention is to produce an ironing board having means forrcmov; ably attaching the same to a support, such as a shelf or the edge of a table.

. The invention consists in the construction and combination of parts to be more fully described hereinafter and particularly set forth in the claims. Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures. I

Referring more articularly to the parts, and especially to ig. 1, 1 represents a table, to the edge of which the ironing board 2 is attached. The board preferably tapers toward its. outer end and its inner end is pro vided with a slot? through which aleg 4 extends upwardly in an inclined position,

plates (3 which are adapted to engage the under side of the table top, as shown in Fig. 2. The upper end of the leg 4 is provided with a. clamping screw 7 which passes verlically downward through the same, as shown, and the lower end of this adjusting screw seats upon the upper face of a clamping block 8. This clamping block is of substantially conical form, as shown, and rests upon the upper side of the tabletop over the spurs 6. ()n the under side of the board 2, at a suitable .point, a brace rod 9 is attached; the uppcr'end of the brace rod is bent so as to form a wristflO which is secured between wear plates 1l,'said wear plates being at tachcd by screws 12 to the under side of the board, as indicated. In combination, an ironing board, a leg, a hinge connecting said leg to said ironing board so as to form the adjacent parts into clamping jaws for engaging the edge of a table, a brake pivotally attached to said board on the under side thereof and at an intermediate point on the length thereof, a clarnpin bracket attached to said table leg and having a curved finger forming a rudimentary socket, and a clamping bolt niounted in said bracket and adapted to clamp said brace thereto.

3. In combination, an ironing board, a

leg, a hinge connecting said leg with said at an intermediate point on the length thereof, a clamping bracket attached to said table leg having a substantially flat plate lying against the side of said leg and having a curved finger extending outwardly from said plate and forming an angle therewith receiving said brace, and a clamping bolt rnounted in said finger opposite to said angle and adapted to clamp said brace against said finger and said plate.
