Specification of Letters Patent.

Application filed July 24, 1905. Serial No. 271,033.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, Oscar. Si-ininian, at citizen of the United States, and a resident of the borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented 1 a certain new and useful Safety-Clasp, of l which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a clasp, by means of which pins, scarf pins, studs, brooches and the like, can be securely fastened to scarfs, dresses, ..hirts and the like. so as to prevent them from becoming accidentally dislodged therefrom.
Figure 1 represents a stud with a partial axial section of the invention, Fig. 2 is a front View of a portion of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 is a top View of Fig. 9, Fig. 4 represents an end View of a sleeve, Fig. 5 shows a top view of Fig. 4. Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a sleeve.
In Fig. 1 the invention is shown with a stud A having its spiral A attached to a piece of material B. The invention coinprises the clamping barrel C, with its threaded end C, having the milled collar C at the lower portion thereof, and the flange C" at the end opposite to the said threaded end. A clamping sleeve 1) with flange D fits the clamping barrel C. The said sleeve has a central slot D, the opening D and the indentations D extending across the outer face of its flange D. An eye bolt E is screwed into the threaded portion of the clamping barrel 0, and has the eye E, through which is inserted the spiral A of the stud. When the clamping barrel C is screwed up tight, the said spiral is clamped between the inner face of the eye E, and the indentations D of the clamping sleeve D. It is evident that the clamping barrel can be adj ustably supported on the eye bolt for spirals, or pins of various diameters.
l-Taving described my invention, I claim.
1. The combination in a safety clasp of an eye bolt, a clamping barrel. adjustably en gaging the bolt, a clamping sleeve having a. central opening supported in the barrel, and a flange having indentations extending across the outer surface thereof at the upper end of the sleeve.
2. The combination in a safety clasp of an eye bolt, a clamping barrel with a collar at. one end thereof adjnstably engaging the threaded end of the bolt, a clamping sleeve having a central opening to allow the eye. bolt to pass therethrough, supported in said barrel and having a flange having indentations extending across the outer face thereof, to clamp an object betwen said indentations and the inner surface of the eye of the eye bolt.
3. The combination in a safety clasp of an eye bolt, a clamping barrel having a milled collar extending from one end thereof said barrel engaging the threaded end of the bolt, a flange extending from the other end of the barrel, a clamping sleeve having a central slot located in said barrel and having a flange having indentations extending across the outer surface thereof, and the other surface of the latter flange bearing on the flange of the barrel.
