My invention relates to appliances for dispensing fluid and 1s particularly adapted for 'dispensing Water from bottles, using the original bottle as a container for the Water in connection with my appliance.
The invention is hereinafter fully desi, hed in connection with the accompanying drawing which illustrates an exemplifying structure embodying the invention.-

Reference character l designates any suitable ice containing vessel having a hase 2 and provided with a drain cock 3. Suitably supported in relation to the ice container i and base is a discharge pipe 4 provided With an elbow 5 terminating in a tapered nipple ti. Extending upward from the. nipple is an extension or spreader 7 provided with longitudinai apertures 8 communicating with the interior of the nipple. Vent pipe 9 located Within the vertical branch ot the discharge pipe passes 'upward through the spreader 7 and extends a distance approximately equa-l to thatrorn Athe end of the spreader to the bottoni of ay bottle which may be inverted over the nipple.
pipe passes through the discharge pipe at a convenient point, for instance through the elbow 5 and communicates with the atmosphere. The discharge pipe 4 is provided with any suitable faucet or valve 11 to regu* late the discharge of Water from the pipe.
To cooperate with the nipple 6 l provide a gasket 'l2 of cork or other suitable mate rial which encircles the nipple and athimble i3 of rubber or other suitable material which has ribbed 'hase le and a small perforation l5 in one end. The thimble itS'o'ver the gasket. When a bottle is in operative posiu tion in relation to the appliance as shown in Fig'. l the neck of the bottle encircles the ruhher thimble .and compresses the thnnhle and shipped as shown in Fig. 3.

The aperture 15 1n the end of the thimble is distended by passing over the extension of spreader i and the openings 8 in the spreader afford a uid passage from the interior of the bottle to the discharge pipe 4.
The gasket and thirnble which forni a part of the invention may he placed in the bottles when the bottles are originally filled An additional stopp'er 16 is used in this case to close the opening Within the cork gasket. When a bottle is'thus-equipped, to put it in open ative position it is only necessary to remove the stopper and invert the bottle. A very small part of the contents of the bottlewill escape when it is inverted because of the small size of the aperture l5 in the thiniloie. This aperture is passed over the upper end of vent ipe 9 and the bottle is 'lowered until nipp e 6 fits squarely within the cork i gasket as shown in F ig. l.

In fluid dispensing apparatus, the coniloination of an elbovved pipe a nipple at one end of the pipe and an apertured extension on the nipple, a. vent pipe Within the elbowed pipe, one end of which extends through and a considerable distance beyond the extension and the other end of which terminates outside the elhoived pipe, a gas ket on the nipple and a rubber thimble c rounding the gasket.

A1 discharge pipe having oneend bent at a right angle and terminating in a nir ple, an apertured extension on the nippe, an inverted bottle with its neck around the nipplefa gasket surrounding .the nipple and a thimble between the gasketand the ncfk of the bottle, and a rent pipe within the discharge pipe terminating outside of said discharge pipe and at the other end Within and near the' upper end ot the inverted bottle.
