The invention consists of certain features of construction and combinationsof parts which will be hereinafter fully described and pointed out in the Claim.
In the accompanying drawings-Figure 1 is a view in erspective; Fig. 2 is a view in side elevation; and Fig. 3 is a sectional view.
A, represents the base, and 1 1 are the standards connected to the base. 'Vertical slots 2 are formed in the uprights or standards, and connected to the standards 'are segment plates 3, by bolts 4 and 5. The segment plates are .provided with curved slots 6 through which the bolts 5 pass. Grooves or guideways 7 are formed in the plates through which the frame 8 is adapted to slide. Journalcd in the frame is the auger 9, which is provided with a gear 10 on the end which meshes with a pinion 11 mounted on the crank shaft 12. I-Iandles 13 are connected with the shaft 12 for rotating the pinion 11 for transmitting rotary motion to theauger 9. A breast plate 14 is connected' to the frame S, which is placed against .the breast of the operator in the boring operation for forcing the frame through the guides 7 in the plates 3 as the auger is passing through the Object bored. After the hole has been bored in the Object, by pulling upon the breast plate 14 the frame will be drawn through the grooves or guides 7 in the plates 3, thereby drawing the auger from the object. From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a machine which is simple in construction and by which I am enabled to obtain' difl'erent angular' adjustments by simply moving the frame, and the frame can be adjusted vertically at difierent elevations.
Itis evident that more or less slight changes might be made in the form and arrangement of the several parts described without departing from the spirit andscope' of my nvention, and hence I do not wish to be limited to the exact constructionherein set 'forth, but
