To all whom it may concern: Be it known that l, JOHANN G. Pn'rnnson,
a citizen of the United States 01:" America,
residing in the city of Hartford, in' the county of Hartford and State of Connectiout, have invented certain new and useitul Improvements in Electric- Lam Sockets, of which the following is a speci cation.
My invention relates to that class of electric lamp sockets in which the metallic cap and shell are provided with means for detachably securing them together in any one of manydiflerent positions rotarily, these means including teeth on the inner end of the shell in combination with corrugations in the cap to receive the teeth on the end of the shell and spring latching means to prevent the endwise detachment of the shell from the cap. The object of my invention is to provide a convenient, and inexpensive construction of the cap pert, such that the cap will .be stronger than as heretofore constructed, and
presenting'a better appearance externally,
while at the same time more eilective holdingmeans are provided to cooperate with the teeth on the end of the shell.

As shown in Fig. l, the end of the shell A which is to be sleeved within the flange b of the cap B is made with any suitable number of teeth. These teeth, which may conveniently be shaped like saw teeth, may be many in number, as indicated in Fig. 1, or "few as indicated in Fi 4.

I claim as my invention:
1. An incandescent lamp socket, comprising a shell. with teeth on its inner, end in combination with a. cap, containing a corrugated ring secured in the cap to engage the teeth on the outlet the shell and means for latching the shell and cap together against endwise detachment.
2.
