lily invention relates to felt or knitted boots or socks, and more particularly to the 111ea11s employed therewith, in connection with overshees, tor excluding .tront said over-shoes snow, slush, mud and dirt, and has 'ltor its object to provide an exeluder fixed to the boot or sock and adapted when laced in operative position to be firmly united to said overshoe whereby independent movement of said boot 0r sock, and consequent unnecessary wear thereof, will be elt'ectually prevented.

The felt or knitted fabric boot or seek 6 is of the usual construction, and has permanently sewed. thereon a series of wear strips T of leather or other suitable material. Attached to said boot or seek at the ankle portion by one or more lines of stitching 8, is an excluder 9 of any suitable waterproof material, said excluder having its front edges provided with a series of eyelets 10 adapted, when said boot or sock is in position in the overshoe l, to substantially register with the eyelets t in the'latter. I also ,ret'erably employ a depending tongue 11 sewed to the boot or sock (S by the line or lines of stitching 8, said tongue when the parts are inposition overlying the tongue 3 01 the overshoe l, as best seen in Fig. 3.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letl. The combination with an overshoe havof a boot within said overshoe, a depending excluder fixed to said boot and overlying the upper edge of said overshoe, and means for conjointly fastening the edges of said flaps and the edges of said excluder to restrain my hand in the presence of-two subscribing witnesses.
