The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To whom it may concern Be it known that we, SOLOMON A. ALEXANDER and EDWARD DUNN, machinists, of Sunbury, county of Northum'berland, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Machine for the Purpose of Moving Cross-Heads on Locomotive and other Engines, and which we term a Self-Sustaining Rest for Moving Oross-Heads; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact deseription of the construction and operation of the same,

reference being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a plan,

Figure 3 is a detached elevation of a part of the machine.

Fig. 1. a is a rest, that may be either perforated or notched. It can be'either square, round, halfrou'nd, oval, or polygonal, with T or L-shaped ends, as shown at B B.
