the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in temporary binders or loose sheet holders.

The main object of this provide an improved tempora binder or loose sheet holder, which is capble of being quickly and easily adjusted for the insertion or removal of sheets or leaves, and one which, when adjusted, is very secure.

A further object is'to provide an improved temporary binderwhich is very simple and and adapted to re-` ceive and secure'o'hold any number of V"sheets'from-onetoits' maximum capacity.' A still further yobject proved binder of the class described, which is very economical to.produce, and, is, at theis to provide an imsame tlme, neat 'and attractive 1n appearance.

Further objects, and objects relating to structural details, y will definitely appear from the detailed descriptionv to follow.

I, accomplish the objects of my (invention by the devices and following specification.

The sheets, as 10, are perforated to receive the binding cords 11, which are preferably in one piece, looped through holes 13 provided therefor in the bottom binding member and passed through the holes 14 in the top binding member. The bottom binding member is preferably provided with a longitudinal channel or groove 15 extending between the holes 13, and adapted to receive the binding cord, so that it lies Within the outer plane of the covers. The bottom binding member is preferably formed of binders board, and is provided with a reinforcing metal piece 16. The binding cords 11 are adjustably secured to the upper bind-ing member by av pairof :fastening devices, cach preferably' consisting of the ways 17 havinfr flange-like-edges 18 and a central longitudlnal groove 19 therein. The ways are pro-v vided with holes 20 to receive the binding cords, the ho es being arranged to register with the holes 14 in the binding member. e ways are preferably secured to the bind` ing members by means ofthe rivets 21. On these Ways are slides 22 preferably having inturned edges 28 adapted to engage the projecting flange portions 18 of the ways, so that the slides are thereby held u on the Ways. They are also preferably provided between the thumb and finger for moving the slides. I also preferably provide the Ways with upwardly-projecting 'cord engaging pins 26 which assist in preventing the slipping of the cords,- although ordinarily this is unnecessary.

By thus arranging the parts, -I secure in a very simple manner a binder which may'be eectively and quickly adjusted for the inthe leaves or sheets, and effectively holds any number of sheets or leaves, from one Vto its capacity,and the binder is of very large capacity. The structure is economical to fproduce, and, at the same time, it is neat an attractive in appearance.

I have illustrated and described my imroved binder in detail in the' form preerred by me, although I wish to state that it is capable of considerable variation structural detail without departing from my invention, and I desire to be understood as claiming the same specifically, as illustrated, as well as broadly.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1.
