To all'whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, TnnoDoRE C. KRINGS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cla'rinda, in the county of Page and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Combined Folding Ironing-Table and Sleeve-Board; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

Thisinvention relates to improvements in combined folding ironing table and sleeve board. v

The object of the invention is to provide an ironing table of this character which may be quickly and easily folded into compact form.

A further object is to provide an ironing table having an improved construction and arrangement of sleeve board which may be swung down to an out of the way position when not in'use, thus providing an unobstructive ironing surface for the board.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side View of the ironing table showing the sleeve board in operative position in full lines and in inoperative position in dotted lines; F ig. 2 is a top plan view; Fig. 3 is an end elevation; Fig. 4 1s an edge or side view, with the parts in folded position.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, l denotes the board or table to the underside of which is secured and suitably spaced apa-rt, a pair of longitudinally disposed cleats 2 which are firmly held in position by corner braces 3. On the outer sides of the cleats 2, midway between their ends are secured filling blocks 4 havin inclined or obliq'uely disposed outer sur aces, the

'purpose of which will hereinafter appear.

Between the cleats 2 and adjacent to one end of the same is pivotally secured the upper end of a longitudinally disposed center supporting leg 5 which projects in the direction of the opposite end of the board or table and in ap inclined position, as shown.

Inl the upper edge of the leg 5 is formed al series of notches 6 with one of which is adapted to be engaged the lower end of a supporting bail 7, the upper ends of which are pivotally engaged with the cleats 2, as shown at 8.

Pivotally connectedv to the inclined faces of the spacin blocks 4 are rear supporting legs 9 which, y reason of their engagement with the inclined sides of the blocks 4, will diverge or spread toward their lower` ends, as clearly shown in F ig. 3 of the drawings. Also pivotall secured to the inclinedsurfaces of the b ocks 4 as at 11 are leg adjusting blocks 10 of polygonal shape or provided with a series of an different distances rom the center of pivotal connection of the blocks; The legs 9 are adapted to be engaged with one of the angular edges of the block 10, said edges limiting the outward movementof the legs and holding the same in operative position. By turning the block 10 to bring the different edges of the same into position to be engaged by the legs 9, said legs will be held at a greater or less inclination, thus providing for the su porting of the board or table at diderent e evations. The adjustment of the board on the leg 5 being provided for the engagement of the supporting bail 7 with one or the other 'of the notches 6 in the leg7 so that said board or table may be maintained in a horizontal position at different elevations.

Arranged above one end of the board or table is a sleeve board 12, the outer end of which is pivotally connected to the upperends of attaching bars 13, which are pivotally connected at their lower ends to the outer sides of the adjacent ends of the cleats 2. r1`he bars 13 are adapted to engage slots or notches 14 formed in the adjacent end of the board or tableI 1 when the sleeve board is in an o erative position.

Hingedljf connected, in any suitable manner, to the lower side of the sleeve board 12, adjacent to its outer end, is a supporting bail 15, the lower end of which is adapted to be enga ed with the upper side of the board 1 and with ythe adjacent edges of the bars 13, as shown, thereby supporting the sleeve board in an operative position above the ironing board or table 1.- By thus attaching the sleeve board 12 to the ironing board, said sleeve board may be readily swung back and down .around the end of the ironing board or table to an out of the way position, las shown in 'dottedlines in Fig. 1

of the drawings.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and operation o the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.

Varlous changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resortedto without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages. of the invention, as defined in the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim 1s:

1. In a device of the character described, an ironing board or table, an inclined center leg pivotall connected at its upper end to the undersi e of the table, means pivoted to the table to adjustably support the table on said lg, a pairv of rear supporting legs pivota connected at their upper end,` to the un 'erside of the table, and means pivoted to opposite sides of the table for supporting-the rear supporting legs at various inclinations to support the table at differentelevations. i 2. ln a device of the character described, an ironing board or`table, a pair of lon tudinall dis osed cleats secured to t e undersi e of t e table, an inclined center leg pivotally connected to saidsleats, means to adjustably supportthe table on said le inclined spacing blocks secured to said c eats, rear sup orting legs pivotally connected to said bloc s, whereby said legs are spread o r diverged toward their lower ends, polygonal leg engaging blocksV ivoted to said s acino` blocks wherebysa'id blocks may be adlliuste to hold said legs at various angles, and thereby support the board or table at different elevations.

3. In adevice of the character described.

an ironing board or table, longitudinally disposed cleats secured to the underside of the table, spacing blocks secured to said cleats,

ysaid blocks having inclined outer surfaces,

a center supporting leg pivotally .connected at its upper end to 'said cleats, said leg havA ing formed therein a series of notches, a supporting bail pivotally connected to the board and ada ted to be engaged with one or the other-ofpsaid notches to support the board in horizontal position on said legs, a pair of rear supporting legs pivotally connected at .their upper ends to the inclined faces of said spacmg blocks, a polygonal leg holding block havlng angular edges arranged at different distances from its center of pivotal connection, whereby the block may be turned to bring its various edges into position to be engaged by said legs thereby holding the `same atv various inclinations to-support the -board at diii'erent elevations.

4. In a device of the class described, an ironing board or table, a pair of longitudinal 'cleats secured to thebottoln of the table, an

inclined center y leg pivoted between said cleats, means pivoted to the table to support the latter upon said center leg, spacing blocks arrangedy at the outer face of the cleats and a pair of rear supporting legs pivoted to said blocks for supporting the table, the outer faces of the spacing blocks being inclined. outwardly whereby the rear supporting legs are held at an angle.
