Having described in v invention, what l claini and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
l. The combination in a railway frog, of a4 body having' aplay space and an abutment therein, a movable rail disposed in`L said space,y and a spring housed in said movable rail and bearing at an intermediate point of its length against said abutment.
2. The combination in a railway 'freinet a body having a play space and alnitinenttherein, a swinging rail disposed in said space and having a chamber in its underside terminating in sharp ends, and a spring;` arranged in said chamber with its ends in the shar ends thereof and bearing; at an inten mediate point of its length against said abutment.
3. The combination in a railway frog, of a body having' a play space and a fixed ahnt- 'Inent therein, a. rail pivoted in the space and having in its underside a elianiber of general elliptical form terminating 1n sharp ends,
and a bowed spring arranged in the chainber with its ends in the sharpv ends thereof and bearing at an intermediate point ot its length againstthe fixed abutment.
L The con'ibination in a railway frog, oi' a body having' a play space and a pin-like abutment fixed therein and also having' a concave abutment at one end of the spare, a rail pivoted in the space and having a rounded heelopposed to the concave abutment and also having in its underside a chainber of `general elliptical forni terminating in sharp ends, and a bowed spring' arranged in the eliainber with its ends in the sharp ends thereof and bearing; at an intermediate point in its length against the pin-like abutment which received in the chamber.
The combination in a lailway frog, of a body having; an abntinent, a swinging rail connected with the body and having' in its yninlerside a chamber which is of general elliptical torni with sharp ends, and a bowed spring' a rranged in the chainber with its ends in the sharp ends thereof and bearing at an intermediate point of its length and in the chamber against the said ixed abutment.
