KATE FRIEDMAN, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
STOPPER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, KATE FRIEDMAN, citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stoppers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a stopper for sink outlets or other drain pipes which are not provided with the regulation stopper.
It is particularly adapted for use in the modern buildings such as flats and apartment houses where every inch of space is utilized, and where, ordinarily, the sink is so small that it is impossible to use a dish pan of any desirable size. Another feature of these buildings is that they provide only one stationary wash tub, instead of two. Thus it can readily be seen that even a small amount of Washing is accomplished with great difliculty; it being necessary to wash and wring each piece separately and place in some receptacle until the tub is entirely emptied; the same tub must thenbe refilled and the operation repeated as many times as it is necessary to use different rinsing waters, etc.
My device obviates this difiiculty, as, by placing it over the sink outlet the sink can be con verted into a dish pan, or stationary tub, as may be desired.
An embodiment of my invention is herein described and is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed May 19, 1908.
Patented Aug. 1'7, 1909.
Serial No. 133,777.
is a plan view of the stopper in Fig. 2, 1s a broken elevation of tion by suction and when placed over the sink outlet or drain pipe and the water turned on, it will remain in position until removed by a sidewise pressure upon the handle; it being almost impossible to lift it straight up.
The stopper can be easily and cheaply manufactured and when not in use may be hung over the sink or tub.
Having described my invention, what I claim is:
A sink stopper comprising a disk of rubber having a central knob molded on its upper side, and having a plain flat under face, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have afliXed my signature in presence of two witnesses this fifth day of May, 1908.
KATE FRIEDMAN.
