Na. 927,472. 'l
To all whom 'it may concern: j
Be it known that I, EMANUEL AUFIERO, a citizen of the United States, residin at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and tate of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Timepieces; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable vothers skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the saine.
My invention relates to improvements in watches or other timepieces.
It has for its object to provide for indicating standard or'local time in different longitudes and to effect that end in a simple, inex ensive, and ready manner.
ith these and other objects in view, thel invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be more fully described and partlcularly pointed out in the appended claim.
` watch or timepiece 1,
In the accompanying drawing illustrating the preferred embodiment of my invention, is illustrated a face or front view of the invention.
In carr out 1n invention, I -rovide a ying y referably aspdisclosed and having the usual liour and minute indicating mechanism. The dial proper 2, has suitably arranged thereon certain indicia in circular outline embracing names of certain cities arranged in east andfwest longitudes and interiorly of said arrangement of cities a corresponding arrangement of the minutes of the hour is designated vas in the ordinary manner.' The names of the cities arranged in west longitude and east longitude are indicative by being produced in colors of red and black, the former indicating east longitude and the latter west longitude, as will be readily understood. Certain other indicia is also arranged upon said dial in connection with certain of t e cities mentioned, the purose of which Will ap ear later on. It will e noted that a. m. andp. m. are indicated by the same designation employed to designate the'longitudes the color used for West longitude representing a. m. and that for west longitude representing p. m. alternatel A separate dial 3, having indicate thereon in circular outline the numerals 1 to 12 indic- A ative of the hours of the day, and over-lying said hour dial is a minute hand 4, said hour Bpeclcation of Letten Patent.
Application med June 22, 1908.

dial and minute hand being actuated, as above intimated in the usual way. Said dial has preferably star pointed-likel marginal outlines for radially reading its characters or numerals in connection with the names of the cities or places upon the dial.
It will be noted that in the use of the tim =iece, should it be set, say, 8.30 a. m., New ork time, this adjust-I ment, while showing 8.30 a. m. said time,
would show 8.30 5 minutes 8.25 p. m. for
Singapore; 7.30 a. m. for Chicago; 6.30 p. m. plus 20 minutes=6.50 .m. forvMadras; 5.30 a. m. for San rancisco; 1.30 p. m. for London, and so on, from which, it is thought, the operation of the invention will be readily ap reciated.
From the ore oing description taken in connection with te accompanying drawings, the construction and operation of the invention will be readily understood Without requiring a more extended explanation.
Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing an of the advantages of liy way of illustration l the invention, as de ned in the appended v I claim as new is A time piece comprising a stationary dial having spaced there around the names of certain principal cities in the eastern and western hemispheres, said names being printed in different colors to distinguish anti and post meridian times, and also having mathematical indicia used in connection with said names for correctiii the time shown by subtraction and addition, said dial having *nute graduations arranged there around, an hour element comprising a multi-pointed rotating dial located within the stationary dial and having characters indicative of the hours of the day to co-act with said graduations, and a single hand traveling over said rotating dial and pointing to the minute graduations on said stationary dial.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
