Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented .Tune 29, 1909.
Application filed January 6, 1908. Serial'No. 409,448.
To all whom t may con ccm:
Be it known that l, HABIA FRANKE, a suhject of the Emperor of Germany, residingv at Breslau, in Germany, have invented a certain new and useful lmprm'ement in llin- Holders, of which the following is a speeiiication.
rihis inventioii relates to a pin-holder adapted to he attached to an article of Wearing apparel and so constructed that pins ran easily he removed therefrom without risk of pricliing the users fingers, and that pins which have heen used can easily he placed in a hoX or receptacle forming part of the dc- Vice.
The invention is illustrated in the annexed drawing, in Which- Figure l is a front-rien' of the deyiee, Fie'. 2 a section on the line Awa of Fi l), :ci a top-plan View7 and lliej. it is a horizontal sec yion ot the front of the hex on a larg-er scale.
Referring to the dra'sxing. a is a. lxox to the rear-Wall al ei' which is Yliked a hook e, safetypin or the like. The lox has :n aperture c at the top, and the frontwfall thereof is of convex outline, stepped. and lern'ardly inclined from the ifottom to the ton. Arrests the rising` portion a of cach step is stretched an india-rubber band d or the like, so that pins can he inserted, head upward, hetneen this band and the Wall, tl ere Being many rows of pins as there arc steps. The pins thus carried can 1ec separately Withdrawn for use. The curvature of the Wall causes the india-rubber bands to press lirinly against the pins, to hold thein in their upright positions. To further increase the stability of 1 lv.' hand.
the pins the surfaces covered hy thc india rubber bands may he `grooved to engage them as shown at u?" Fifi'. l1.
The device is preferably fastened to the front of the user-s dress hy means of the hook l), in a Aposition which can easily be reached .Y Pins which have been used are dropped through the aperture c into the hex a. An inward hent tongue or llange c pre- Tents the pins from falling` out of the hox when the hodyl forwardly inclined. The
device can also he used for holding;l small nails and the like in the saine manner.
What l claim as my invention and desire to secure hy Letters Patent of the United States is:-
1. pin holder comprising' in combination a box the front-wall of which stepped and made convex, said ho); haring" an aperture at the top, means ot attachment on the hack of the hex, and hands stretched across the convex faces adapted to retain rows of pins inserted head upfvard between the wall and hand.
L?. A nin holder comraisingV in combination a hex Lhe front-umh of which is stepped and made eonrex with Vertical recesses (L2 thereinI said hex having); an aperture at the top, means of attaehment on the hack of the box, and yhands stretched arross the convex faces adapted to retain rows of pins inserted head upward hetwcen the Wall and band.
In Witness whereof l have signed this speciiication in the presence of tivo Witnesses.
