Like letters of reference indicate like parts iu the several figures.
rIhe nature of our invention consists in providing a lubricating-box with an inclined plate, ending outwardly in a curved flat spout, on which a wick rests, so that the oil or lubricating-compound will bel drawn through the wick by capillary attraction, as long as any of itis in the box.
A, in the drawings, may represent a box, of any suitable shape or size. In the centre of this box an inclined plate, B, extends from one lower to the other upper end, thence extending from the upper end out wardly in a flat, suliciently-curved spout, C.
Resting on the plate B, and passing through the spout C, is a wick, D, held in place. bylneans of a short'point, b, secured on the lower end of plate B.
E is a lid, closing the box.
The box beingA iilled with oil or other lubricatingcompound, is placed in such a position toa shaft that the end of spout C is just over the shaft. The oil being drawn up by capillary attraction, will lnbricate the shaft as long as any of it is in the box.
Having thus described our invention,
What we claim as new,aud desirel to secure by Letters Patent, is#- l l. rIhe inclined plate B, provided with a point, b, arranged substantially asv and for the purposes set forth.
