Be it known that I, FRANK N. KNEAs, a residing in Norristown, county of Montgomery, State of Pennsylvania, have inventeda new and useful Hanger-Socket for Reinforced Concrete,
of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to provision for attachment of'devices such as shafting'or other structures to cement or concrete beams.
The purpose of my inventionis to secure a socket rigidly against movement in any direction, to protect it from being filled by the concrete, and to sustain it by direct strain u on means engaging the concrete on A further purpose of'my invention is to provide a substantially U shaped support for a socket the anchorage being obtained by means of the sides of the U.

It will be noted that I providespaced anchorageshaving laterally extending fins or webs for engagement with the concrete and retaining the socket between them. I These spaced-anchorages are preferably placed arallel with the reinforcing .rod's where t ese occur and do not-interfere with them.
The cap retains the socket against movement within the anchor and holds-the anchor in place against the board. The cap and the abutment of the bolt against the walls of the aperture-9 cooperate to keep the socket fixed against movement in all directions.

It will be evident that the structures which I have illustrated may be constructed at a minimum of cost for labor and materials making use of such materials only as are readily available.
The structure of Fig. 2 differs from that of Fig. 1 in the apertures 33 only. These may be used with an anchor having notched edges, as shown, to increase the anchorage, or with an anchor having straight edges to In some of the smaller forms I omit the apertures and the notching, relying upon the adhesion to the sides alone. It will be evident that the exact structure need not be used to* obtain the main advantages of my device.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isz- 1. In a device of the character described, a flat base, a socket resting thereon, a separate cap for said socket, means for shpacing the cap vertically from the socket, an side memhers attached to the outer edges of the base and extending above the cap.
2. In a device of the character described, a
fiat base, a socket resting thereon, a separate cap for said socket, and side -members attached to the outer edges of the base and extending above the cap.
3. In a device of the character described, a substantially Usha ed anchor, having an interrupted side sur ace for engagement with the concrete, a socket within the U, and a separable cap for said socket, the socket and -cap resting upon the transverse member of the U.
4. Ina device of the character described, an anchor having substantially parallel flat sides, an apertured cross bar therebetween, fins projecting from said sides, a socket resting upon the cross bar with its a erture in line with the aperture of the cross er, a cap fitting over the socket and engaging the sides of a the anchor and apertured pro'ections from'said cap for attachment to a mold.
5. In a device of the character described, a substantially U-shaped anchor having laterally projecting fins upon the parallel sides thereof in combination with a nut resting on the cross bar of the anchor, and a cap fitting the nutat the sides thereof and projecting for attachment to a form or mold.
6. In a device of the character described, a plurality of substantially parallel flat sides having fins projecting therefrom, an apertured transverse bar secured to said sides, a nut resting on the transverse bar and having its threads in line with the aperture thereof, and 2. ca for said nut engaging the nut and the para lel sides.
7. In a device of the character described, an anchor of fiat material having straight upwardly turned finned sides, a socket resting u on the anchor, and a guard between the si es protecting the top of said socket.

In a device of the character described, a U-shaped flat sided anchor having an aperture in the cross bar of the U, a nut having its thread in line with the aperture of the cross bar and filling the space between the sides, and a guard covering said nut and projecting beyond the sides of the anchor.
9. In a device of the character described, a socket, a base beneath the socket and 6X- tending from one side thereof to the other, a separate cap for said socket and side members connected. with the base and extending above the cap.
