I do not Wish to be understood as limiting myself to any portionler form in whielr my invention may be embodied as shown in therleserip'tion there form felling withof, out desire to cover any in the sFirit of the invention on l the scope of the c aims hereto appended.
Turning now to a description of the various figures in detail, Fig. 1 represents the preferred form or my invention. numeral 1 therein denoting a; bar running near the top of the cor a required height from the floor end. over which pesserb two straps 2, the ends 01" which hang down; one emlof eeeh strap 2 is then passed through one 0% two' slots 3 Wliiol1 are out one in eeelr up curved end. 7 of e. rounded grip member 9;

The rounded grip mei'nber' preferably made of porcelain or some et a. r such motorist ol'tering a smooth easily cleaned surface and to accommodate the hand. After passing through slots 3 the. ends of straps 2 are turned 11 and overlap the ren'mining ends, which are .ieinging down,
point midway betweenthe grip portion 9, the-pairs of ends being fastened together by rivets which for added strength also pass through the cen ttol portion of the vstrange is shown in By reason of the use of e pair of gr k vi the swinginq tlie'oer is Fig. 2 represents a modified forin of my invention in which the straps 2 do not pass through slots in the arms of grip member 9,

Fig. 3 represents the rounded grip member 9 showing the upcurved flattened arms 7 and slots 3. This grip member 9 is preferably made of porcelain as has been stated and in order to secure lightness the central portion thereof between the upcurved arms 7 is preferably constructed in hollow form with curved sides spaced apart at the bot tom as shown in section in Fig. 6.
Fig. 4 represents a view in section of, the preferred form of my invention taken through line' 4-4 of F ig. 1, showing bar 1, strap 2, rivets 10, slot 3, upcurved arm 7, and grip member 9.
Fig. 5 is a similar view of a modified form taken online 55 of F ig. 2, and showing theends of a strap 2 attached to opposite sides of a flattened upcurved arm 7 of grip member 9.
Fig. 6 represents a sectional end view of the preferred form of grip member 91 taken through the line 6-6 of Fig. 3 and described in connection with said Fig. 3 above.
Fig. 7 represents a second modified form of my invention, the straps 2 being replaced by a pair of short strap members 11 which diagonally upward to and around the other bolt 12, thence downward and through the hole 15 in the second arm 7 of rip 9, and again diagonally u ward to the first bolt 12 around w rich it is astened in like manner as end 13. At the point of intersection of the diagonal portions of wire 14 said portions are flat-tenedout. as shown at points 16 and fastened together by. rivet 10. This construction provides even more erfect stability against lateral and longitudinal swinging than my preferred form shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 8 represents a sectional View in end elevation through line 88 of Fig. 7 looking in the direction of the arrow in said Fig. 7
showing members 11, bolt 12, wire 14, fiattened portions 16, rivet 10, grip member 9 and upcurved arm 7.
Fi 9 represents a view in front elevation of a t ird'modified form of my invention, the straps 2 hangin downward diagonally thus crossing each ot er-in X shape and. being fastened together at the crossing point 17 by a rivet 10, one end of each strap is passed over the bar 1 and being fastened to t 1e diagonal strap portion by rivets 18, thereby forming a loop over said bar 1, the other end of each strap 2 is passed through a slot 3 man upcurved arm 7 of grip member 9 and likewise formed in a loop by rivets 18 passingthrough it and the diagonal strap ortion.
Having thus described my invention I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. The combination with a sup ort of a car strap suspended therefrom, t )6 handgrasping'portion thereof consisting of a tubular member open on its under side.
2. The combination with a support of a hand-strap suspended therefrom comprising a plurality of diagonally crossed hanging members, and a grip member connecting the lower. ends of said hanging members.
3. The combination with a support of a hand-strap comprising a' hanging member with substantially parallel arms and diagonals connecting the ends of the arms, said hanging member being formed of an integral piece of wire and a'grip member suspended from said hanging member.
4. The combination with a supplort of a U-sha ed gri member suspended t erefrom and iagona s connecting the ends of the arms of said car strap.
5. The combination with a support extending longitudinally of the ,car of acar strap suspended therefrom comprisin a plurality of hanging strap members, and a grip member pivotally suspended from said strap members, said grip member extending longitudin'ally of the car and being ada ted to retain a vertical position during tie lateral movement of said car strap.
